With the real-time spectrum analyzer SPECTRAN® V6 MIL, the measurement technology specialist Aaronia is now offering a mobile solution for the first time that combines the highest demands on performance, speed, reliability and flexibility for mobile use.
Hard Shell
The housing of the SPECTRAN® V6 MIL consists of a high-quality alloy that was specially developed to make the mobile analyzer resistant to drops, vibrations and shock. There is also a seal that protects the system against dust, water and moisture. This means that the device is reliably ready for use even under extreme conditions in a temperature range of -20 ° C to + 60 ° C. This is attested by the independent certification according to MIL-STD-810G and IP65.
High Real-Time Bandwidth & Fast Sweep
A SPECTRAN® V6 real-time spectrum analyzer is integrated in the system, with which Aaronia has already attracted a lot of attention:
The highest equipment variant offers a real-time bandwidth of 2×245 MHz (True I / Q streaming). Such bandwidths were previously only possible in the benchtop class.
The sweep speed even exceeds 1 THz/s. This means that 6 GHz can be swept in less than 5 ms, which corresponds to an update rate of 200 Hz – faster than the human eye could see.
The extremely small POI (Probability Of Intercept) of up to 10 ns enables signals to be recorded that are 100 to 1,000 times shorter than conventional real-time spectrum analyzers of the compact class. These usually reach their limits with a minimum signal duration of around 10 µs to 100 µs for 100 percent detection probability.
Integrated Vector Signal Generator
Optionally, a full-fledged vector signal generator / tracking generator can be integrated, which with a modulation bandwidth of up to 120 MHz (optionally 245 MHz) increases the application range considerably.
Work Laptop Included
The system is completed by the full-fledged laptop, which can be used at the same time as a normal Windows computer for all other applications required. It is equipped with an Intel® Xeon® processor E-2176, 64 GB RAM, a dedicated NVIDIA GTX 1050 graphics card with 4 GB and 1 TB SSD system hard drive and 2 TB or 8 TB SSD recording memory. This means that you do not need an additional computer for possible additional tasks that require a computer, which is a considerable advantage, especially for outdoor use.
RTSA-Suite PRO Analysis Software Included
The SPECTRAN® V6 MIL is delivered with the pre-installed RTSA-Suite PRO, one of the most powerful and diverse spectrum analysis software solutions currently available on the market. The modular structure and the optional licensing of individual additional functions enable an exact adaptation to the respective needs. In combination with this software it is not only possible to monitor a wide frequency range in real time, but also to search the entire band from 10 MHz to 6 GHz in the shortest possible time with the super-fast sweep (over 1THz / s). The RTSA-Suite PRO allows signals to be displayed and analyzed in real time in a wide variety of ways. This enables reliable detection of even the shortest signals, which can then be localized with a suitable directional antenna.
The number of display and analysis options is constantly expanding thanks to the ongoing development of the software. Aaronia provides the latest updates in the download section specially set up for this purpose. These are supplemented by the specially set up SPECTRAN® V6 Forum in which all current information on the RTSA-Suite PRO software is stored. This ensures that the RTSA-Suite PRO is always up to date.
Unlimited Fields of Application
Of course, an outdoor spectrum analyzer equipped in this way is predestined for military use and any type of counter-surveillance. The extremely low POI of the SPECTRAN® V6 MIL is ideal, for example, for tracking down hidden microphones, bugs or other monitoring devices. In this way, security organizations can locate and eliminate these quickly and reliably.
Limiting the area of application to this would, however, clearly fall short.
In an industrial environment, the system is ideal, among other things, for mobile real-time diagnosis of connection problems and dead spots, which, thanks to Windows, can be documented on the integrated outdoor laptop with the usual office applications. EMC and pre-compliance tests can also be carried out with the device, as can complex measurements in industrial and laboratory use.

In principle, the SPECTRAN® V6 MIL is suitable for all areas of application in research, laboratories, industry and the military that place the highest demands on precision, robustness and universal application in real-time spectrum analysis.
It is the ideal companion for the rough use in the field service, industrial plants or factories, where it will reliably handle all measuring tasks thanks to the IP65 certification.
